How to do fine meshing in ANSYS.

ANSYS Workbench, developed by ANSYS Inc., USA is a Computer Aided Finite Element Modeling and Finite Element  Analysis Tool. In a Graphical User Interface (GUI) of ANSYS Workbench, the user can generate 3D and FEA models, perform analysis and generate analysis result.

There lots of Analysis can be done in ANSYS 14.5

MESHING - Any continuous object has infinite degree of freedom and its not possible to solve problem, Finite Element Method reduces degree of freedom from infinite to finite with the help of meshing.

So this tutorial is all about how to do fine meshing in ANSYS Workbench because meshing is the key to achieve true result.

1.Open the ANSYS Workbench 14.5.

 2. Click on Static Structural which is in Analysis System left side of the screen and drag it towards the green box which is in Project Schematic.

3. After dragging your screen shows like.

4. Right click on the Geometry cell of the Static Structural and choose the Import Geometry option a fly out is displayed from this flout choose the Browse option.

5.Browse to the location and then select the file to be opened. Next, choose the Open button from the Open dialog box, the file imported into the Ansys Workbench.
Notice that the green tick mark is placed corresponding to the Geometry cell in the Static Structural analysis system.
6. Double click on the Model cell in the Static Structural analysis system, the Mechanical window displayed.

7. Now we will first Mesh the model with the default mesh for this Right click on Mesh in the Tree outline a shortcut menu is displayed.

8. Choose the Generate Mesh option from the shortcut menu, the ANSYS Workbench Mesh Status window is displayed. After sometime the window is closed and the mesh view of the model is displayed in the Graphic screen.

 9. Select Mesh from the Tree outline, the Details of Mesh window is displayed and expand the Sizing node.

 10. Select the ON:Proximity option from the Use Advanced Sizing Function drop down list the Detail of Mesh modified.
11. Enter 3 in the Proximity Min Size edit box. Similarly 7 in the Max Face Size and 8 Max size in edit boxes.

 12. By Right clicking on Mesh Choose the Generate Mesh option from the shortcut menu. the ANSYS Workbench Mesh Status window is displayed. After sometime the window is closed and the mesh view of the model is displayed in the Graphic screen.

13. To get the detail about the number of element and nodes crested expand the Statistics nodes in the Detail of Mesh.
